Corvallis is located in the Bitterroot Valley in western Montana, between the Bitterroot-Selway wilderness on the West and the Sapphire Mountains on the East,  about 35 miles South of Missoula. It is a beautiful valley with lots of places to ride.

How to get to R&M

Dixie is my 6 year old gaited molly. She has won the "Gaited Mule Class" at Montana Mule Days for the last three years running. In 2002 our good friend, Pat Nikrasch rode her to a Blue, and in 2003, she won her Blue being riden sidesaddle- what a gal!
In 2000 we entered classes at the Tennessee Walking Horse Equestrian Benefit Show at Missoula, The Montana Gaited Horse Celebration at Bozeman, and Inland Empire Grand Celebration 2000 at Spokane. She won Reserve Champion Open Gaited Breed at Missoula and placed in most of the classes we entered at Bozeman with a second in Trail. At Spokane she took fourths in Trail, EZ Rider 2-gait and Barrels (Dixie is nicely gaited, but she also loves to run!) .  She was a wonderful "mule ambassador" everywhere we went and drew a lot a positive attention!
She made a nice showing in 2001 at Missoula, winning all of the Gaited Mule classes and taking first in Matched pairs with Pat's spotted Walker, The Master Painter (Ebony). The judge said that he had never seen two animals so well matched in their way of going... of course we had to alter Dixie's color a little to make her match Ebony. And if you look closely you can see that Eb's ears seem to be a little long!
Here's Roper at one of the few "real" brandings that we have left in the valley. Most of the branding, castrating, medicating and such is done with chutes, tables, and 4 wheelers anymore, but there are still a few "die-hards"
